Mark Brown asked:

Models should choose the right modeling agency to be successful in their profession.  If your agency is very popular and active in the field, your chance of success is far greater than when you are with a less popular one.  But, before looking for the right agency, you should know what a modeling agency is.  It is an entity which recruits models for their fashion and non-fashion clients. It is different from a modeling school where you are trained in the basics of modeling like model etiquettes, your carriage, your dressing, the type of modeling you do, your health and nutrition aspects, etc.  Other category is talent agencies representing the myriad of talents such as models, actresses, singers, photographers, stylists, etc.

While choosing the right modeling agency for you, you need to be convinced that the agency is truly professional and is actively engaged in the industry.  Also, you should see the quantum and quality of work they give to the existing models.  That is, by just registering with an agency you need not become a successful model.  You should get the best professional support in an adequate and continuous measure and the agency should be sophisticated enough to groom you.  Another factor you need to consider is the initial payment factor.  If the agency asks you to pay any fee for sign up, consultation and the like, you need to be extra cautious because no bona fide agency will rely on any advance payment.  For a genuine agency, the income is to come from commissions.  Their work involves grooming your capabilities and marketing your talent to their clients.  The agency invests initially to develop you to be marketable and many may ask for refunding the expenses.

As afore-said, while you choose the right modeling agency it is better to go for a big agency.  However, to begin with it would be advisable to join a small agency.  It is because, a leading agency may have a number of established models, bookers and departments and you being a green-horn may not get proper attention and your concerns may not be addressed. Hence, in the initial stage it is better to be associated with a small but professionally vibrant agency.  Later, as you grow in your profile, you can look for a bigger agency. A large agency has a big reputation as it enjoys the goodwill of a big brand name.  Also, you will have the resources and opportunity to work with the best in the industry and that will stand you well in the industry.

Mark Kemp asked:

As much as there are a lot of talent agencies that you can choose from if you want to be an actor or a model, there are also a lot of scammers out there. Therefore, it is important for you to know if the talent agent that you are dealing with is legitimate or not.

First of all, you should not be blinded by any so-called talent agent that promises to give you a gig and then try to take your money. Use your head and don’t trust these people immediately, especially if they are not giving any proof as to their legitimacy.

For example, there are talent agencies that charge upfront fees. Remember that legitimate talent agencies never charge with upfront fees for representation. They will ask you to pay them in exchange for putting up your pictures on an agency website, when in fact, this is not the way of legitimate talent agencies.

You should also not trust people who claim to be a talent scout or talent agent, especially if they just spotted you on the streets and told you that they can make you a model or an actor and help you earn lots of money. More often than not, these fake talent agents will only let you register for a faux talent company that will eventually cost you hundreds of dollars.

Fake talent agents also use flattery to their advantage. They will often tell you about how you are meant to be an actor, and how their connections to different talent agencies can help you in your dream. They will even give you names of people that they have made popular, although you can never be sure of their claims. Don’t be fooled by these people who try to sweet-talk you into entering their so-called talent agency.

The bottom line is, you should not trust any talent agent that charges you a huge amount of money even before absorbing you as part of that talent agency. Getting your television dreams come true does not mean that you have to pay a huge amount for it. Always be careful where money is involved.

Lewis Waller asked:

If you think you want to become a talent agent, you’re going to need to understand quite a few very important things… the largest of importance among these, is that you’ll need to understand that creating a good and lasting name for yourself is number one in this field. In a nutshell, this is due to the fact that this is how you attract your clients. What the word on the street is about you and your services is how any future potential clients are going to decide whether to work through your company or through your competition.

Now, if you’ve yet to have any reputation right now (which is assumable that this is how it is for you at the moment, if you are just starting out in this line of work), then this can have a profoundly superb or ruining effect on what bodes for your business – whether it will thrive for enough time to make a good name for your agency that will last or not. If you make attempts to become a talent agent and a client full of high hopes and expectations becomes disappointed you’re your services somehow, that one little faux pas can destroy your name with just a single e-mailed bad review of your agency’s service.

Truth be told, on the road to become a talent agent, there are many pitfalls to avoid, and nigh invisible opportunities that you can take advantage of, if you’ve a keen eye about you… but discovering the proper path to travel along takes years of experience. If you’ve got none of your own to speak of in your beginnings, it is best to rely upon the experience of others who have worked in this realm of the entertainment industry for many years. Some people have moved on from this line of work to take on the guiding of others just starting out in this business, and these are the people to turn to for mentoring. Locate these people who offer their aid and expertise, and you’ll be well along the path to success for you and your agency.

Mark Kemp asked:

If you are a new actor or actress, you may be wondering how in the world you are going to break into the television or movie scene. Every actor needs to have a good representative, and what better way to do it than to find an acting talent agency that will represent you.

There are several ways to find reputable acting talent agencies. One of them is by asking your school about them If you studied in an acting or drama school, surely they will be able to recommend you a few acting agencies in which you will share your talents. It is also a big plus if your mentors will give you recommendation letters for different acting agencies.

Aside from having the power to get you into the acting talent agency of your choice, your mentors can also provide you with useful tips on how to apply successfully for different talent agencies and what you need to expect from them.

Another way to find acting agencies is through checking a list of top acting talent agencies. Why not go for the best if you have what it takes to do so? A guideline that you have to remember though in dealing with these acting talent agencies is that they are not supposed to charge you with any upfront fees. The only time that they will be able to earn money is when you land your first acting gig through them. If your acting talent agency is asking money from you, back off and find another agency.

You can also ask for blank contracts from the different acting agencies that you apply to. This way, you get to compare their terms and conditions and you get to choose which one is the most agreeable for you.

Finally, make use of the internet in finding a reputable acting talent agency. Look for their requirements and submit it to them, together with some head shot photos and references, such as your acting coaches. Make sure that your resume stands out from the rest, since acting agencies receive plenty of applications everyday. If they are interested in you, they will request for an interview, so make sure that you know how to smartly answer their questions.

Palsanich asked:

Decided to visit international marriage agency and, probably, to be connected with the girl from Russia?

I talked to many women. Today I want to share my expirience with you, tell you what really Russian women are, about an acquaintance on the Internet and why it has a future. Nowadays many people make their careers in the modern world.

That why sometimes we have no time to meet in a real life. Very often work takes practically all free time. Exhausting business trips, business meetings, time for private life does not remain at all.

That is when an acquaintances service of the Internet helps. In order to meet someone online the only thing you need to do is to sign up at acquaintances web site, fill the about form and upload some pictures. That’s all! It’s easy as a pie. To chat with the person online you don’t have to worry about what to wear on a date, you don’t need to spend time to go to the cinema, theatre or a museum … All you need is Internet access and some wish.

Internet-acquaintances success mainly depends on good pictures. If they don’t attract attention and don’t make good impression, nobody’s going to read your questionnaire. Your pictures must show all you got rather that just reflect some moments of your life. Realism is inappropriate here. Pictures should not show what you can be for a beloved one.

Have you ever seen how acquaintances site search engine works? Even if you set the strongest search criteria, you’ll get tens or even hundreds of pages with “candidates”. Will you read all of them? I can hardly believe you will. If your profile contains more than one picture a girl will be interested in revising your page, she’ll read it and maybe write you.

Photos should reflect different sides of your appearance, completing each other and making fuller image. It’s sided of an appearance, not aspects of your real life. Pictures giving too different or even conflicting presentation of you will not be met with delight about your many sided person, but rather with perplexity. In this case it’s unlikely that a person who is not familiar with you will get into contact.

Many russian women coming to agency, have already met Russian men, and even have had children from them, but have decided to marry foreigner. Usually they explain it that they like the attitude of the western men to children and to the health more.

Some of them want to find «their» man, a man they will feel well and comfortable with, to find the «significant other». They wish to use all the chances and opportunities available. Their goal is not just leaving abroad but also finding a native soul, and usually they succeed.

There are girls whose goal is just to leave abroad no matter who with. As experience shows, this category is most vulnerable. Other girls pay more attention selecting a man, paying attention to acts, statements, and contradictions in letters but those who only wishes to leave, usually ignores similar “trifles”.

Some girls or women come to marriage agency after heavy loss, divorce or parting with the loved person. They can come right after or aftter a time. For them the reference in agency is the important step, a following step of their life. They understand - everything, that it was dear, remains in the past, and now it is necessary to live the present and to look ahead. They seldom marry foreigners, but letters, calls and man’s attention on a site allow to feel them interest to the present, to start living a full life and to be ready for a new love. Sometimes it flashes with the foreigner on a site, sometimes it is Russian, but at all they are from agency. These women are unknown in a month - two, their eyes will start to be shone, gait becomes flying, a voice - alive and sensual.

At last I would like to tell about girls who are not a success at the Russian men, but for some reason consider, that it will be easy to them to find the man in the West. But also in other countries in the woman man wish to see the partner, the friend, the mistress and simply tremendous woman. the western men do not differ from Russian. They would like to see a person, with whom comfortably and reliably. Therefore to women who do not manage to construct close relations, first of all it is necessary to borrow in itself, to think of the style in appearance and behaviour, to look narrowly at happy pairs and to try to understand, that involves men in wives favourite by them, to look at that heat and pleasure which they give each other.

In the conclusion I would like to repeat the first and the key rule that formulated many years ago: « the Most important person above all - the one who before you ».

If an interlocutor appeared before you, for you all over the world there should be only two - he and you, he - in the center. A column of light is around of him, and outside of this light is anything, emptiness, a gloom. And then you awake to see it, and only it.

The person can be ill-bred and inattentive, silly or aggressive, but the less it is for you, the less it will touch, and irritate, the more talent you have as the interlocutor. The highest is to fall in love with him. At least, try, that the interlocutor has liked you, and when it will occur, do not hide it. Give it signs on sympathy and respect.

Ishika asked:

This is the generation of reality shows, talent hunts and cut-throat competition in every field. When everything is so commercialized and merit-based, one really needs to strive hard to be noticed and appreciated for his talent. Online talent community resolves many a problem of these talented people.

We come across umpteen talent searching programs on television and innumerable enthusiasts participating in them. The intention behind conducting these television shows is to spot fresh talent in the field of singing, dancing, acting, modeling and a variety of other domains. “I want to be a rock star”, “I aspire to be a super model”, “I wish to win the Oscar one day” – aren’t these some of those beautiful dreams that the youth worldwide has? Yes, it does. And in order to fulfill their dreams some of these youngsters approach and spend a fortune on various talent agencies or attend auditions for reality shows, whichever feasible. But how many of the really talented people get a chance to attend the auditions? Even if they do get through, how many of the truly talented ones get the appreciation and recognition they deserve?

Our generation is impatient, like a popular ad says. We are impatient to showcase our talent to the world. We are impatient to sit and wait for that opportunity to come and knock our door. We are impatient to rock the world. We want instant solutions for our concerns.

So what’s the solution - one that brings opportunity to your door and knocks till you open; one that provides you a platform to showcase your talent without the grueling auditions or exorbitant spending. It’s also the one that gives you global viewership and puts you in the group of talented youth. Not just that, it gives you a fair chance to prove yourself and be judged without any biases or stereotypes. In short, it’s ‘online talent community’.

Susan Boyle shot to fame with her stunning performance in Britain’s Got Talent but it’s her video on YouTube that made her an overnight world favorite. With more than 10,651,040 views in just three weeks and a newly acquired celebrity status Susan Boyle is easily one of those “get online – get famous” kind and is an inspiration for millions. Not to mention what myspace did to Lily Allen. She turned a myspace rock star with her songs “Guess Who Batman”, “Get With the Brogram”, “The Fear” (then titled “I Don’t Know”), “I Could Say”, and “Who’d Have Known” and each of these had between 250000 to one million plays. Her fame in the virtual world inspired the launch of an online game, Escape the Fear, as a part of viral marketing targeted at people unaware of Allen. As on 18 February 2009 the game had been played over two million times! In short, people have become famous, got celebrity status and due recognition of their talent through the easily accessible “online” medium.

With the advent of internet the world has not only shrunk into a global village but is also throwing numerous opportunities at us, which include the online talent communities. It’s now entirely up to us how we avail ourselves of these opportunities and bring out the best in us.

Danil Ava asked:

There are many acting talent agencies that will be ready to offer you or get you a good assignment if they feel that you have the looks and the talent. While one can go and search and apply to various acting talent agencies, one must ensure that the acting talent agency is reputed and has good credentials.

With the right kind of acting talent agency you can launch your career in acting. You may receive a lot of casting calls through your acting talent agency for films and fashion shows. The right acting talent agency can get you the modeling job, contract, casting calls and acting jobs from a lot of major production companies.

Many believe that it is the acting talent agency and not the studio that calls the shots in Hollywood and also have a lot of good contacts. A well established acting talent agency can help you land that film contract within months and even days.

The acting talent agencies have the power because the studios want those people that they represent. Many actors who want to be successful always have a good and professionally big acting talent agency behind them because they know that even though the quality of the projects is not always what might be expected from independent productions who search for and use their own pools of talent, the attraction of earning five and six figures for a film role is impossible to resist.

When you contact an acting talent agency with your photographs and resume, make sure that you don’t give out signs that you book directly. One way of knowing that you are a person who prefers to book directly is if you give out your card or your phone number. Many acting agencies do not like to work with stand alone actors who book directly. Basically it doesn’t give them a cut from what you earn so obviously they will not like it.

There are many acting talent agents whose contacts are available online. However, it is advisable that you go through proper reference and channels as this way you will be able to increase your network which will in turn help you land more lucrative assignments.

Tom Herry asked:

Mainly because of the brutal economic crisis that has embattled economies around the globe, many talent agents have started to reinvent themselves; and for some, it is paying off. The global economic crisis, that has caused turmoil in many US industries, has not spared the acting talent agencies of the USA. Nationwide, mergers and layoffs have pushed the industry to the wall and have forced many laid-off talent agents to pursue a different path.

In the midst of the chaos happening in and around the industry, several talent agents are making the leap from talent agent to entrepreneurs and talent managers. With this move they hope that they can, at least, survive, if not actually beat this recession. Though it isn’t easy, stress and uncertainty are nothing new to these talent agents turned acting talent agency businessmen.

And in an industry where poaching of clients is not only a practice but a culture, several talent agents turned managers have still managed to maintain their triple-A class clients even after they got laid-off from their, now, former acting talent agencies. By going to business on their own, a talent agent has effectively left behind the poaching culture of their former acting talent agencies and are, now, able to serve their clients better because of it.

With more and more talent agents getting into management of acting talent agencies, competition has become fierce. With actors’ salaries dropping, many are seeking the advice of these talent managers. And since movie roles have become scarce, a lot of former talent agents have advised actors to branch out into branding and to the Internet.

In the midst of all this, two factors, chaos and opportunity, have effected change. And in showbiz, just like any other business, chaos almost always brings opportunity. And as talents seek more help from new acting talent agency managers, the transformation of talent agents to talent managers is expected to continue. And at the heart of it all are people, talent agents who have taken up the cudgels of acting talent agency mangers, who genuinely want to see their talents succeed.

Danil Ava asked:

Have you ever watched the famous reality show/series titled, America’s Next Top Model? Was it something that caught your fancy? At some point while you are watching it, is there something inside you that keeps on tugging you to pursue that childhood dream of walking and strutting your style on a ramp wearing that skimpy Prada dress?

If you want to be your own country or city’s next top model and would want to try pushing your luck on this career path and really show what you’ve got on that runway, then stop wishing and start working to make your dream come true.

Modeling is one difficult yet definitely attainable dream. It takes perseverance and a never-say-die attitude in order for you to embark on your lifelong journey to becoming the next top model. Being a model, however, is not just about living the lifestyle. Your perseverance doesn’t end when you have become a model. It actually becomes even more required of you.

So how does one climb their way to being a top model? The first thing that you have to do if you want to make it big in the modeling industry is to find a credible modeling agency for you. You can find talent agencies everywhere but you have to be careful as not all of them can really be trusted. You have to sharpen your radar, expand your knowledge and read a lot about these modeling agencies so that you would know a fraudulent one when you see it.

Also, you should really trust yourself each time you are trying out for a modeling agency. A seasoned talent agent could smell fear and insecurity from a distance so beware. Show them what you’ve got and why should you be the next top model. Made them realize the gem that they are losing if they are not taking you in. Make yourself standout and show them how unique and competent you are.

Getting into any of the various top modeling agencies is your way to advance yourself on the modeling ladder. So if you want to start great, look for a reputable talent agent to take care of you.
